This is from the cover of Blue Valentine. Tom Waits entered my life through the old Virgin store in Corporation St. Brum . I sat and listened to his album on import gatefold, blue couch and headphones and he's been with me ever since.

Influenced a little by the cover of Surfs Up (Beach Boys) I wanted to work big (as with a lot of my work) so this is about 4 by 3 feet. The barren background adds to the notion of time.
This takes up half the wall at my house and confirms my belief I was an Indian chief in a former life, ha!
